Performance Tip - Confidence

Your jokes might be lame, you can mess up your magic, and do an overall horrible job, but when you do it all with confidence, your show won't seem almost as bad to the audience.

This just isn't to advocate performing a bad job. I'm merely trying to emphasize how basically becoming confident can elevate the level of your show tremendously.

A mediocre joke told with gusto will get a superior reaction than an excellent joke delivered meekly.

Here's a couple of hints on gaining confidence:

1. Know what you're going to say. You need to practice your script as much as your magic. It requirements to be memorized so thoroughly that you do not need to take into consideration it. After you don't need to think about what you're going to say, you'll be able to concentrate on the performance.

2. Practice your magic. You've got to have the ability to technically do the tricks with out thinking about them. Again, when you are nicely ready, you'll be extra confident. Also, when you don't have to take into consideration what your hands are doing, you could be yourself. Being yourself means you're relaxed, your accurate voice can shine via, you'll be much more likable, and your performance might be much better.

3. Arrive to the performance early. When you have to rush your set up, you may forget some thing. Have a checklist and arrive early enough to use it. Being relaxed and knowing every thing is perfectly in place will support your confidence level.

If you aren't feeling confident, fake it! So long as you appear in control, the audience will still respect you.
